Laurel Burton is the Founder and Chief CMO for Hire of Laurel Bay Marketing. Laurel is an engineer by trade and a marketer at heart. Having spent many years as a marketing executive (CMO) at several leading cloud infrastructure and data center colocation companies (including ViaWest, Faction, and Qwest (now CenturyLink), Laurel is pursuing a life-long dream of running her own business. Her contributions to B2B technology companies rival her most accomplished peers. As a CMO for Hire, Laurel's has championed sales, product and marketing strategy for software companies, data center operators, technology infrastructure businesses and managed service providers.
Laurel’s vast experience includes strategic direction for Marketing and Sales functional areas, rebranding businesses, and transforming fledgling corporate websites and lead generation programs into profitable revenue-generating entities. She has championed B2B strategy efforts, branding, advertising, demand generation programs, digital marketing, events, and communications. As well, Laurel held leadership roles in product management and sales management for Fortune 1000 companies.
Under Laurel’s leadership, businesses have doubled and tripled their performance KPIs including contributed revenue, leads generated, brand awareness, contact database growth, and website traffic and conversions.
Laurel holds both a Master's in Telecommunications Engineering and a Master's of Business Administration from the University of Colorado. When she is not working, you can find her enjoying the great outdoors with her husband, young daughter, and her dog, Bella.
